Links and dictation
Links that open in your browser, denizenblu-one:// links that open One, and using the microphone to dictate.
Links open in your browser
Links in One's answers, and links to other websites, open in your default web browser, not in the app. The app's window only ever shows One and the Denizen Blu sign-in page.
Account and Reset password in One's account menu also open in your browser. Because the app's sign-in is separate from your browser's, you may need to sign in there.
Links that open One
Links that start with denizenblu-one:// open One for desktop, if it's installed. On Linux, this needs the .deb; the AppImage doesn't register them. You can use them in bookmarks, notes or shortcuts to jump straight into One:
| Link | What it opens |
|---|---|
denizenblu-one://new | A new chat. |
denizenblu-one://new?prompt=your text | A new chat with your text already in the message box. |
denizenblu-one://c/ followed by a conversation's ID | That conversation. |
A conversation's ID is the last part of its address on the web: in https://one.denizenblu.com/c/1a2b3c…, it's 1a2b3c….
A link never sends a message for you. A prompt from a link is only filled in, so you can read it, change it or delete it before you send it. When you click a One link on a web page, your browser asks first whether to open One.
If One isn't running, the link starts it. A link that isn't one of these just brings One to the front.
Dictation
The microphone button in the message box works as on the web. See Voice.
The first time you use it on a Mac, macOS asks whether One can use the microphone. Choose Allow. On Windows, the app uses your Windows microphone privacy setting. On Linux, there's nothing to allow: the app uses your desktop's sound input. If the microphone is turned off for One, see Microphone access is turned off.
The app only ever uses your microphone, for dictation. It never uses your camera.
